Store owners can enable the “Show product cost and price” option from the Preferences screen.
This allows all users to see product price, unit-cost, and real-time stock values as they take stock. Users can click the “info” button to see the stock valuation.
The “Retail value” is computed using the price of the product displayed in Shopify, similarly “Cost of goods” is computed using unit-cost as stored in Shopify. The stock valuation details are emailed to the store owner when you do an “Inventory update”.
Three new columns are added to any exported CSV file to aid in stock valuation.
- unitcost – optional unit product cost from Shopify
- price – price displayed in Shopify
- compareatprice – optional undiscounted price from Shopify
The CSV file can be edited in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets to calculate the inventory value.
